Kojic Acid was discovered in Japan in 1989.
It is a natural product derived form a mushroom.
It has been successfully used to lighten pigment spots and skin discoloration.
Unlike other products used for similar purposes, it is not as harsh on the skin.
Its antioxidizing properties, while being beneficial for the skin, help the product to preserve its effectiveness.
It penetrates upper skin layers to inhibit the formation of pigment.
The upper layer is lightened, while the deeper layers remain discolored.
Sun light brings the deeper layered colors to the surface.
Usually, the effect produced by kojic acid lasts as long as the product is being used.
I.e.
if you stop using Skin Lightener, the cell might regain its activity.
If Skin Lightener is used regularly, you should see the improvements in a matter of 4-6 weeks.
